Lip colors are my favorite to sport especially for a night out. So many times I will find my lips dry and chapped right before I apply my lipstick and it’s always such a bummer. I thank Yes to Carrots for the fix to my frequent pre-lipstick problem. I don’t really like to wear lip balms underneath my lipsticks because it tends to make my lip color more prone to smearing. So now before bed I apply C Me Smile Lip Butter in either Mint or Melon…there’s something about their scents they are very calming to my nose. Sundays are my casual days when I wear very minimal makeup and I use the C Me Blush Lip Tint in Coral Sunshine throughout the day. I love how the ingredient list is in their products, there’s usually about 5 ingredients in their lip balms, that’s it. They are 95% organic and free of parabens and harsh preservatives. At the end of the day I end up practically eating this stuff, I like to make sure I’m not going to die in the process! The lip balms are super affordable and easy to get, they’re sold at Target for about $3 each.

Beauty Collection Grand Opening in West Hollywood

Last Saturday I attended Beauty Collection’s grand opening in West Hollywood and boy did I enjoy myself. Like a kid at the candy store I tell you. Free food and drinks, a DJ, free hair and makeup makeovers from the hottest brands, and brand founders to chat about their products … really what more could you ask for?

I got a chance to talk with representatives of The Beauty Bus Foundation. They offer beauty and grooming treatments for the chronically and terminally ill. This is such a wonderful and thoughtful idea for those in difficult times of their lives. 50% of the proceeds went to support and benefit The Beauty Bus Foundation.

It may look a bit cheesy, but I want to learn how to make my own lip gloss it sounds like fun! Teen Freeway has definitely moved away from ancient contest by email and has caught on to sending out freebies through Facebook which is great. I really have a soft spot for Teen Freeway because I have gotten countless free stuff from them in the past. A lot of it was beauty and cosmetic related like fragrance samples, lip balms, eye shadows, and my favorite oil absorbing face wipes. Teen Freeway offers all kinds of freebies. I even applied and received Juicy Juice sippy cups! Coupons for health bars, Jamba Juice, even free appetizers at common restaurants. Best of all, I applied for a contest to win a nail polish set and although I didn’t win I received a free 1 year subscription to BusinessWeek Magazine.
